For participants — you got a QR code or a link
- Open the link or scan the QR code. If the app is installed, the walk opens directly. Otherwise it opens in your browser first, where you can choose to install the app and continue.
- Enter your name. It shows up on the leaderboard for everyone with the same link.
- Tap Start. The walk opens on a map with numbered control points.
- Walk to the first control. The question unlocks automatically when GPS confirms you are there — the app gives a soft vibration so you know it triggered.
- Answer the question and move on. Once you have done all controls, you see your score and land on the leaderboard.
Tip: GPS needs to be on, and you need an internet connection to load the walk the first time. After that it works offline if you lose signal outside.
For creators — you want to build your own walk
The quick way (in the app)
- Tap Create walk on the home screen (requires Google sign-in).
- Tap the map where each control should be. You can also import a ready-made question pack from /en/tipspack — then you just place the questions on the map.
- Write the question and the answer options for each control. Mark the correct answer.
- Save. You get a QR code you can share directly or print. Send the code or the link to the participants.
The roomy way (on the web)
Prefer a laptop and a real keyboard? Go to /en/skapa and build the walk there. Same result — your walk lands in your collection in the app as soon as you sign in.
What you can configure
- Images per question — upload an image shown together with the question.
- Activity type — pick 🚶 Walk or 🚲 Bike. Bike mode uses a wider GPS trigger (50 m instead of 15 m), an “approaching” warning at 100 m so the cyclist has time to slow down, and a wider default map zoom.
- Category and city — so others can find your walk if you publish it.
- Event mode — set start and end dates so everyone shares one common leaderboard.
- Publish to library — make the walk discoverable for everyone in the app’s library.
Finding ready-made walks
Tap Library in the app to browse published walks and ready question packs. Toggle ”📍 Near me” to sort with the nearest walk first.
